This timber decking by Avon Building was for a client in the Perth Hills. All of the timber is jarrah which is a hardwood timber and ideal for the outdoors. You will see a beach shade sale which we had to put up as the job was done in the middle of summer and some days it was 40 degrees. So the lucky guy who was oiling the timbers under the sail had the good job! Oiling each timber before securing down meant that all sides of the board could be coated in the oil which helps to protect it from the elements. We screwed the decking down rather than nailing it to ensure it stayed in place longer. Timber will expand and retract during different times of the year so nails can pull out over time and the result is loose boards. Balustrading was installed after all the decking was complete.
